Everyone wants freedom of speech…until it takes a form they don’t like. Then the person doing the talking is “what’s wrong with America.”

Explain to me how that works. If someone is practicing free speech, which is protected by our Constitution, and is otherwise not violating any laws, how are they the thing that is wrong with America?

Surely practicing free speech is a quintessential American thing to do. Shouldn’t you be protecting someone’s right to free speech, even if you don’t like what they are saying/doing? To borrow a phrase from the gun rights crowd (and speaking as a gun owner), “If we don’t protect and practice our rights, they will be taken from us.”

Shouldn’t Americans everywhere protect free speech?

Is a person’s free speech less important because they are a repugnant individual?
