The run up to Sturgis has begun. I’ve been working a list of things to do:

– Bring out the Aspen Sentry camper and set it up and make sure it is clean with no funny smells

– Find a way to attach the 3 metal poles to the lid of the camper rather than keeping them down in the storage. (I believe I have this done for 2 of the 3 poles, the 3rd one is just too long to work.)

– Get a 2nd 3×5 rug. (Purchased!)

– Get 2 heavy duty antigravity chairs. (Purchased!)

– Get a 10′ x 10′ shade canopy. (Believe I found the one I want, just need to order.)

– Register the trailer and get license plates (Done!)

Those are the main items. In addition to that I am putting together a list of things to pack. I’m not gonna go though the entire list, but I want to hit on a few items:

Clothing. I’m not really taking much. A fresh pair of socks and underwear for every day, but I’m only taking 2 pairs of pants. I’m probably only going to take 4-5 shirts. I’ll be buying shirts out there that I can wear. No need to bring extras from home. I expect to be hot and sweaty most of the time, no amount of clothes is gonna change that.

Food: Not taking much here either. We’ll be bringing some granola/cereal bars, things that don’t need refrigeration, but for the most part, we budgeted eating out multiple times each day into the trip.

I tend to overpack so I’m really trying to avoid it this time without going overboard and underpacking. Luckily my wife is the voice of reason in these situations. I’ll let you know how it goes.
